Last month I delivered an Insights Discovery session to five new employees at the Gates Foundation. The meeting room reserved for us was set for 35 in a hollow square, with additional perimeter seating for 20.
It simply wouldn’t do.
Fortunately, the room was empty when I arrived, and the tables and chairs are on wheels. I got busy rolling tables and chairs around so the extras looked tidy at one end of the room, and I created a cozy conference table for us six at the other end.
The change made a huge difference in the dynamic of our small group, and we had an engaging, productive few hours together.
